Race Information

The 19th Annual Susan G. Komen Austin Race for the Cure
5K (3.1 mile) Walk/Run and Family 1 mile
Sunday, September 24, 2017
Start at 7:30am. Start line closes at 7:45am.

Who: All are welcome! You can walk, jog, run or even participate virtually.

Komen Austin’s impact area includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties.  We have participants from these counties and beyond as family and friends travel miles – and even from other states - to make Race Weekend an annual tradition.  Whether or not breast cancer has touched you personally, we are excited to welcome you back or for the first time.

Why Race?

Because breast cancer impacts everyone, we are in this race together. So no one walks alone.

The Komen Austin race is built and presented by your community. Our partners, volunteers and local vendors dedicate significant time & resources to create a day and a space for the community to come together…

  • To celebrate, honor and remember loved ones impacted by breast cancer
  • To connect
  • To share stories
  • To bring the streets of Austin alive with energy and fun
  • To provide support and hope for the women, men and families facing or living with a breast cancer diagnosis

Every participant and supporter offers hope, raises awareness and brings us one step closer to ending breast cancer forever.

Where: NEW START LOCATION! The start line will be in front of the Austin American Statesman, just south of the Congress Avenue Bridge, at 305 S. Congress Ave. The 5K (3.1 mile) course will travel north on Congress, around the Capitol complex and back down Congress Avenue.
